Command and Conquer (often abbreviated as C&C or CnC) is a video game franchise, mostly of the real-time strategy style as well as a single first-person shooter game based on the former. The Command and Conquer series was initially developed by Westwood Studios between 1995 and 2003, and later by EA Games from 2003 to the present.

The first installment of the series was released world-wide on August 31, 1995 and was simply named Command & Conquer.

Representing the roots of the Command & Conquer franchise, the Tiberian series originally features two factions of globalized influence and power — the United Nations' Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the quasi-state, quasi-religious terrorist group known as the Brotherhood of Nod (Nod) — being locked in a mortal struggle for the future of the world. In the latest installment of the series, an extraterrestrial force known as the Scrin was added as a new third faction.
The Red Alert series is set in an alternate time-line, created when Albert Einstein travels back in time and removes Adolf Hitler in an attempt to prevent World War II. This backfires and results in a Soviet invasion of Europe by Joseph Stalin, which serves as the backdrop for the first Red Alert game. Two expansion packs for the original Red Alert were released: Counterstrike and The Aftermath.
Unlike its predecessors, the plot line of Command & Conquer: Generals is completely unrelated to the other games of the Command & Conquer series.
In Generals, there are three different factions, which maintain a balance of power: the USA which adopts emergent technologies and support units; China, which swamps defenses with vast numbers of tanks and troops, and the Global Liberation Army (GLA), a terrorist network which uses low-tech ingenuity and guerrilla tactics like terrorists, trucks with machine guns, and other primitive weapons. The Chinese and the USA are targets of the GLA. The US uses more advanced techs like air support, heavy tanks and snipers. The Chinese use Overlord tanks (which can have a bunker, anti-air machine gun, or speaker tower add ons.), Migs and expendable troops to get the job done.
The expansion pack for Generals, Command & Conquer: Generals: Zero Hour, extends the game's plotline. Zero Hour makes many additions to the original game while retaining the three basic factions.

Command & Conquer Sell Vehicles
To sell a vehicle, place it in a repair bay, then choose the $ cursor and place it over your vehicle. You'll get about the half the value back.

Command & Conquer Space Ship
To find a space ship, go to the GDI level 6: Czech Republic. Build a normal base. Blow up all SAM sites. When you get the airstrike option, use it to attack the bottom-left corner. If you don' see a silver ship, attack with airstrike a little higher than you did before. You should see a silver space ship that crashed.

Command & Conquer Steal Enemy Harvesters
You can steal the enemy's harvester by capturing the refinery while the harvester is depositing money into it. This comes in handy on earlier missions when you cannot build more harvesters.

Command & Conquer Sell Your Minigunners
Direct the minigunners to stand in front of a sand bag fence. Click on the sell button and move the cursor over the minigunner. If the minigunner is standing close enough to the sand bag fence you will be able to sell him.

Command & Conquer Sand Bag Tip
To keep NOD or GDI from entering your base, build sand bags to all entry points of your base, or farther away to keep NOD from blowing up buildings, vehicles, et cetera. This will allow you to build up your base without having Nod troops destroy your troops. In later missions GDI's orbital ion cannon, and A-10's will kill troops from time to time, and in Nod's Temple the nuclear missile will kill troops.

Command & Conquer Build Anywhere
Build a sandbag wall next to one of your buildings. Now continue the wall until you reach the spot where you want to build. Build your new building, and then sell all the sandbags.

Launcher Hack
Hipsu-kuna created a small "hack" that removes all the splash screens from the The First Decade's launcher program, speeding up the load time for the games.

DOS Mode
For people who want to get really retro, or see how crappy it really was in 320x200, or just those who want to see the videos without interlacing, here is a small addon pack for The First Decade.

Logofree TFD Launcher
A small alternative launcher that removes all the splash screens from the The First Decade's launcher program, speeding up the load time for the games.

TibEd 1.61
This is TibEd 1.61 which supports the new C&C: The First Decade compilation.
