One of the games me and countless others are really looking forward to is Star Wars: The Old Republic. After months — even years of waiting, we still don’t know the release date for the game, but EA enabled pre-orders of the game a few days ago and the number is just staggering.

In the most recent EA’s investor’s report they stated that SWTOR has been pre-ordered over 200,000 times in just the first five-six days, which makes it the fastest pre-ordered title in their history, breaking the previous record set by Battlefield 3.

As for the release date there is at least some new information. Recently EA announced beta weekends starting in September, after which they will set up the exact release date for SWTOR. It’s also been stated they are aiming for this year’s holiday season, which pretty much means the game will come out in December.

While it isn’t 100% confirmed, customers who do pre-order will most likely get access to the beta weekends, so be sure to do so and check out what might be the best MMORPG since WoW.
