I’m still keeping myself busy with Battlefield 3, but now that Modern Warfare 3 is finally released, I’m of course thinking of trying it. Even though I wasn’t sure whether I’ll try MW3, I did pre-order it so it would definitely be a huge waste of money not to try it at least.
I’ve been going over a list of features and new additions in MW3, and unsurprisingly I haven’t found much. New maps of course, and a new single-player campaign, but other than that most has remained the same. There are some changes to multiplayer, particularly to how killstreaks and deathstreaks work, but weapons, attachments, and things like that mostly remained the same.
The singleplayer campaign, from what I gathered, is again rather short and you can complete it in just a few hours of gameplay. Whether or not that’s a good thing is debatable: of course Modern Warfare 3 pushed you to go and give a shot at the multiplayer, which is what this game is mostly about anyway. But with no real changes, what kind of experience can it really offer, and how long can it last?
I’m again thinking of even picking up a strategy guide to get through the campaign as fast as possible. It’s probably not necessary but trying to break some speed records might actually be fun, at least for awhile.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on the new Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 3 — is this a dying title or do you think there’s still something it has to offer?
In either case, at least the trailers are getting A LOT better:
